Grandpa Shia is the calm and dependable grandfather of the Waterbrooke family. Wise, organized, and endlessly patient, he always seems to know just what to do when something goes wrong. Fern and Thomas especially love listening to Grandpa Shia’s stories—he tells the very best ones!

When he isn’t spending time with his family, Grandpa Shia loves to go fishing. Thomas sometimes gets to come along, too… if he can manage to wake up early enough! That’s usually the hardest part. Grandpa Shia’s favorite holiday is Christmas, when Thimblewood Hollow is filled with family, traditions, and plenty of holiday cheer.
